Summary
Throughout three chapters the author analyzes the public space in the contemporary city of the XXI century, developing a general overview with contributions from classical and contemporary authors, the notion of public space and its conceptualization in the modern city, together with the concept of art, public art and controversial problems to describe and define it. Finally, the extensive public and legibility of the city allows us to know the background of public art in the city of Guadalajara and provides an analysis of the Chapultepec Cultural Corridor, as a case study.
